Food Paradise's “Buffet Paradise” (aired 2013) featured Taverna Cretekou, the Greek restaurant on King Street in Alexandria, Virginia's Old Town, serving lamb, chicken, seafood, and other regional specialties in a white-stucco dining room with patio seating in warmer months. The restaurant has operated at the same address since 1973 and has been recognized by Zagat as one of the top Greek restaurants in the Washington, D.C. area. Yelp's listing for Taverna Cretekou, updated in September 2026, and Google Places both show the restaurant currently operating, and a 2026 hours listing on Visit Alexandria shows it serving lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday with live Greek music and dancing on Thursdays. No dated report of a closure, relocation, or ownership change was found, indicating the restaurant continues to operate much as it did when the episode aired in 2013.
