What happened after Best Thing I Ever Ate?

The episode featured the Buena Vista Cafe's Irish coffee, the drink the bar is credited with introducing to the United States when it began serving it on November 10, 1952. The Buena Vista first opened in 1916, when the ground floor of a boardinghouse at the corner of Hyde and Beach streets was converted into a saloon, according to a Wikipedia article on the cafe. That Wikipedia article, revised 2026-08-07, describes the cafe's current owners as also having operated the Trident restaurant in Sausalito, which closed on 2025-12-31. A Census Bureau geocode lookup on 2026-09-07 confirmed the address as 2765 Hyde Street, San Francisco, matching the location given in the Wikipedia article.
