What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Guy Fieri visited The Cube for smoky Southern barbecue on the December 2, 2013 episode "Pork, Pasta and Barbecue," according to a recap on DinersDriveInsDivesLocations.com describing the restaurant's laid-back atmosphere. The same recap listed sides of mac and cheese, seasoned beans, and oven-fresh cornbread among the restaurant's offerings. The Cube operated at 1520 Central Ave SE in Albuquerque's Nob Hill area along historic Route 66. DinersDriveInsDivesLocations.com's fan-site page for the location reported that The Cube closed in 2017, ending its run in the city's barbecue scene.

Foursquare's business listing for the same address is separately marked as permanently closed, a secondary signal consistent with the fan site's account. No current website, phone listing, or 2026-dated review for The Cube at this address turned up during this research pass.
