What happened after The Hotel Inspector?

The Gungate Hotel in Tamworth, Staffordshire, was the subject of series 10, episode 6 of The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5), which aired 2014-03-13. According to Wikipedia's episode list, Sue Tipton bought the hotel on impulse while looking for a challenge, and years of struggle had left her running it almost alone. TVmaze's episode guide gives the same outline. Presenter Alex Polizzi's visit centered on turning the business around; the listings do not describe the changes made or the result, and Wikipedia's list shows no later revisit episode for the hotel.

On 2026-10-19 the hotel's own website, thegungatehotel.com, loaded with a 2026 copyright notice in its footer. Its text gives the address as 62 Upper Gungate, Tamworth B79 8AA, lists budget, standard, deluxe and family rooms with en-suite facilities, and mentions free on-site parking for up to 10 vehicles. It also advertises a Cocktails & Wine Bar open to the public seven days a week, with posted hours of 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm Monday through Thursday, noon to midnight Friday and Saturday, and noon to 10:00 pm Sunday, and it carries a Book Now link. A Google Maps listing names the business Gungate Hotel - Cocktails & Wine Bar at the same address.

The website does not name its owners and does not mention the television appearance, so the people running the hotel now have not been compared with the owner seen in the episode.
