What happened after Food Paradise?

On Travel Channel's "Food Paradise" (season 4, 2013), The Rex was featured for its steaks and seafood, served inside the restored, century-old Rex Hotel building in downtown Billings. A Yelp listing for The Rex Restaurant Bar & Grill, updated 2026-06, marked the business permanently closed at its 2401 Montana Avenue address, and the Helena Independent Record separately reported that the historic downtown Billings restaurant had closed, in a headline found via a 2026-09-08 search. Yelp and Tripadvisor listings checked the same day showed a different concept, Buffalo Block Prime Steakhouse, now operating out of the same historic building, though its current status was not independently confirmed for this record. Google Places lists the Rex Hotel building itself, rather than the restaurant, as operational.
