What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

On the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives episode 'Meat In The Middle' (aired 2014-11-07), The Sandwich League showed off a sandwich-and-burger menu built on house-cured, all-natural meats, house-made sauces, and fresh-cut fries. The restaurant operated near the University of Oregon in Eugene, serving a college-town crowd from a compact counter-service space. In the years after its TV appearance, the business expanded to a second location on campus at 1239 Alder Street. Yelp's listing for that campus location, updated 2026-05, marks it as permanently closed, and the original Van Buren Street listing carries the same permanently-closed update. A check of the business's own website, thesandwichleague.com, on 2026-09-08 returned no response, consistent with the closure. No replacement tenant or successor business at either address has been identified from the sources reviewed.
