What Happened to Threadgill's After Food Paradise? (Austin, TX)

Food Paradise, Season 15 Austin, Texas

Current status

Closed

As of October 2026, Threadgill's has closed — confirmed via Yelp, May 2026.

What the source shows: Re-checked 2026-09-21: the recorded Yelp closure evidence stands; the business's own site (threadgills.com) is still online but shows no hours, menu, or ordering, only history/podcast/merch content, which does not contradict the prior permanently-closed finding. What happened after Food Paradise?

The episode "T.G.I. Fried" featured Threadgill's, a Southern comfort-food restaurant in Austin famous for its live-music heritage, including early performances by Janis Joplin. The chain's larger location, Threadgill's World Headquarters, operated at 301 W Riverside Dr. A Yelp listing for that address, updated May 2026, lists the business as permanently closed. A separate Yelp listing for the chain's original location, Threadgill's Old No. 1 at 6416 N Lamar Blvd, updated August 2026, also lists that address as permanently closed. No 2026-dated review, current menu, or active ordering page was found for either address. Together, the two updated closed-listings indicate neither Austin location is currently operating. No dated source describing a relocation or reopening under new ownership was found, and neither Yelp page has been updated since those dates to reflect new information.
