What happened after Food Paradise?
Tortuga Mexican Kitchen was featured on the episode 'Gulf Grubbin,' spotlighting the second-floor Seawall Boulevard restaurant's Tex-Mex menu of fajitas, enchiladas, and its signature stuffed avocado. The restaurant operated on Galveston's Seawall for about 25 years and also promoted itself as a wedding-catering venue, according to the Houston Chronicle and a WeddingWire listing for the business. The restaurant announced its closure on Instagram and Facebook in October 2024, writing 'we have made the difficult decision to close.' The Houston Chronicle reported the same month that a restaurant representative called the closure permanent 'for now' but gave no further detail. Google Places lists the business as permanently closed at 4910 Seawall Boulevard, and the site's domain returned a server error during a September 2026 check.
