A segment of the Halloween-themed 'Frightfully Good' episode featured Xi'an Famous Foods, the Manhattan location at 60 West 45th Street of the Shaanxi-cuisine chain. According to Wikipedia, founder Jason Wang and his father opened the original shop in Flushing, Queens, in 2005, growing the business into an 18-location chain that generated about $23 million in revenue in 2025. The menu centers on Xi'an classics such as pork Zha Jiang hand-ripped noodles and a stewed pork burger, according to the restaurant's website. Xianfoods.com, last modified 2026-09-07, listed current menu items, all locations, and an active pickup-and-delivery ordering widget. Wikipedia also reports that the chain has closed underperforming locations before, including a Long Island City shop after a January 2020 roof fire, according to Gothamist, and its full-service Biang! offshoot, which closed in March 2017 according to Eater New York.
