What happened after Man v. Food?

Vic Stewart's was the challenge restaurant in Man v. Food's San Francisco episode (Travel Channel, host Casey Webb, aired 2019-11-26), where Webb attempted the 49er Club Steak Challenge, a 49-ounce porterhouse steak served with one side, according to Wikipedia's episode list for the series. At the time of filming the steakhouse operated from a converted 1891 train depot in downtown Walnut Creek, California, a setting later described by Beyond the Creek, a local Walnut Creek news site. Beyond the Creek reported on March 7, 2018, that the Walnut Creek building was being demolished for a retail redevelopment after the restaurant's closure there.

Vic Stewart's own site, vicstewarts.com, now lists a single location at 2270 Balfour Road in Brentwood, California, with a dinner menu file dated for summer 2026. A Yelp listing for the original Walnut Creek address is marked closed, with an update dated July 2026.
