Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Blackbrick in the 'Old Faces, New Places' episode (S27E9), which aired October 6, 2017. The segment showcased chef Richard Hales's modern, Sichuan-inspired Chinese cooking, including dim sum and dumplings. Blackbrick Chinese & Dim Sum operated in Miami's MiMo (Midtown Miami) neighborhood at 3451 NE 1st Avenue; in 2014, Miami New Times named it the city's best Chinese restaurant. A Yelp listing updated September 2026 marks the location as permanently closed, and Google's listing for the same address independently marks it permanently closed. According to Burger Beast, chef Richard Hales has since relocated the Blackbrick concept to the Tampa, Florida area, where the restaurant's listed website now displays a Hyde Park, Tampa location under the name Hales Blackbrick.
