What Happened to Blue Sports Grille After Bar Rescue? (Loveland, CO)

Bar Rescue featured this Loveland, Colorado, sports bar in the episode "Loveless in Loveland" (S8E29), aired 2023-04-02. During the rescue, Jon Taffer's crew rebranded the business from Blue Sports Grille to Colorado Champions Sports Cafe, the name under which it continued to operate at 3021 N Garfield Ave, Loveland, CO 80538. According to reporting from K99 and Retro 102.5, Colorado Champions Sports Cafe closed on 2026-02-16, after roughly eight years serving the Loveland community under its various names. Those outlets report that owner Duane Farnum announced the closure on Facebook and describe the post as emotional.

The business's own website, coloradochampionssportscafe.com, returned no response when checked 2026-09-08, consistent with the reported closure. K99 and Retro 102.5 are Northern Colorado radio-station-affiliated news sites, and their coverage of the closure appears to draw on the same underlying report of Farnum's Facebook post rather than representing two fully independent investigations. A follow-up piece from Retro 102.5 reports that a new sports bar opened in the same Loveland location by late April 2026, taking over a spot that had housed a sports bar for years; that article does not identify the new occupant by name or its relationship, if any, to Colorado Champions Sports Cafe's prior ownership.

The two businesses have not been shown to be related. No information in these sources describes what specific problems Taffer's crew addressed during the original rescue — menu, decor, or staffing — beyond the rebrand from Blue Sports Grille to Colorado Champions Sports Cafe. Google's listing for the address marks the business permanently closed, consistent with the K99 and Retro 102.5 reporting on the February 2026 closure.
