What Happened to Hideaway Bar & Grill After Bar Rescue? (Meridian, ID)

Hideaway Bar & Grill, in Meridian, Idaho, was featured on Bar Rescue in the episode 'Hideaway From Reality,' which aired 2023-03-12 during the show's eighth season. Unlike most episodes, coverage of the visit describes Jon Taffer leaving without completing the usual renovation and relaunch process, after raising unusually pointed concerns about the bar's design compared with other episodes; that coverage also described concerns, raised on the episode, about the owner's drinking. No menu, decor, staff, or name change from the rescue itself was reported as a result, making this one of a small number of episodes in the series where Taffer did not carry out a renovation.

The Spokesman-Review reported that Hideaway Bar & Grill closed on July 30, 2023, about three and a half months after the episode aired, and that a Facebook post from the business said owner Dwayne had sold the bar in order to retire. The same reporting said the business had drawn complaints, both before and after its Bar Rescue appearance, over towing practices, food, and service. A Yelp listing for 'Hideaway Bar & Grill,' updated in September 2026, is marked closed at 1510 S Celebration Ave, Meridian, Idaho — the address used for this record.

That address differs from the one returned by this record's automated location match, which instead found an unrelated business, a barbershop, operating at 1540 E Fairview Ave #103, Meridian, with no reported connection to Hideaway Bar & Grill. A Census Bureau geocode lookup for 1510 S Celebration Ave, Meridian, ID confirmed coordinates for that corrected address. Reporting reviewed for this record indicated a different, unrelated restaurant opened at the old Hideaway address several months after the closure; that business's current operating status was not independently checked here. Both sources on file — the September 2023 Spokesman-Review report and the September 2026 Yelp listing — are dated and independent.
