What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

On 'Burgers, Tacos & Dogs' (Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, aired 2009-08-10), Guy Fieri visited Cempazuchi, a regional Mexican restaurant on Milwaukee's Brady Street known for mole and fish tacos. The restaurant opened in April 1999 with a stated goal of helping diners 'understand and appreciate' Mexican regional cuisine, according to OnMilwaukee.com. OnMilwaukee.com reported that the owner announced the restaurant would close 'within the next several weeks,' and a follow-up OnMilwaukee.com article, 'A last look at Cempazuchi,' described the restaurant as having closed that Saturday, 2017-01-14, after 18 years in business.

Milwaukee Magazine also covered the planned closure in a separate article. A Yelp listing for the 1205 East Brady Street address, updated September 2026, still marks the restaurant permanently closed, with no indication a new tenant restaurant has taken over the space under a different name.
