What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Fry Bread House in Phoenix's Melrose District for its Native Taco — fry bread topped with red chili beef and mashed pinto beans — and its Chim stew, in the episode "Flavor World" (aired 2024-02-16). According to Wikipedia, the restaurant was opened in 1992 by Cecilia Miller, a member of the Tohono O'odham Nation, and in 2012 the James Beard Foundation named it an American Classic, the first such honor for a Native American restaurant. Miller died in 2020 and her children, Jennifer Miller and Richard Perry, now run the business. KJZZ reported on 2026-08-31 that Fry Bread House was named to the inaugural Southwest Michelin Guide, and general manager Keith Jensen told the outlet the restaurant "had a line out the door" the next morning and was booked up for the following week.
