Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives revisited Niko Niko's, a converted Houston gas station serving Greek food since 1977, for its "Takeout: Bringing Comfort Home" episode (aired 2020-08-28). According to Mashed, Guy Fieri's original visit centered on the restaurant's lamb shanks and loukoumades, Greek honey-soaked donuts, which he praised as excellent. Dinersdriveinsdiveslocations.com lists Niko Niko's as a longtime Montrose-neighborhood Triple D stop known for Greek specialties.

Part 2 — Season 7, Episode 7 Aired

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Niko Niko's in "You Can Say That Again" (S7E7), which aired October 5, 2009, spotlighting the restaurant's Greek specialties. Niko Niko's Greek & American Café opened in Houston's Montrose neighborhood in 1977, founded by Chrisanthios Fetokakis and later passed to his son Dimitri Fetokakis, according to Wikipedia. A direct check of the restaurant's website on September 8, 2026 found the site live at nikonikos.com, titled "Voted Best Greek Food in Houston," carrying a 2026 copyright notice and an active online-ordering system covering three Houston locations. Wikipedia's Niko Niko's entry, last revised August 22, 2026, corroborates the restaurant's continued operation under the Fetokakis family. Together, the current site and the recently revised Wikipedia entry indicate the restaurant remains open at 2520 Montrose Boulevard.
