What happened after Food Paradise?
On Sandwich Paradise 2: The Upper Crust (2012), Juan Mon's International Sandwiches was featured for a menu of globally themed sandwiches, each named after a city and built around street food the founder had eaten there during his travels. Founder Juan Montero opened the restaurant in Houston's Midtown/Montrose area in 2009, building a following around the international sandwich concept. A Yelp listing for the Taft Street location is marked closed as of an April 2026 update, and a Google Places lookup checked 2026-09-08 shows the same address as permanently closed, confirming the closure across two independent sources. The domain formerly used by the restaurant's website now hosts an unrelated hostel-chain page for Mexico City, Cuernavaca, and Barcelona locations, with no trace of the sandwich concept remaining online.
