Best Thing I Ever Ate's 'Supreme Sweets' episode highlighted a dessert from Serendipity 3, the New York dessert restaurant known for elaborate sundaes such as the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate and the Golden Opulence Sundae, which the Guinness Book of World Records recognized in 2004 as the world's most expensive dessert at $1,000. Serendipity 3 was founded in 1954 by Calvin Holt, Patch Caradine, and Stephen Bruce, and later expanded with outposts including one at Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip.
