What happened after Best Thing I Ever Ate?

"The Best Thing I Ever Ate" featured Spencer On The Go for its French-style crepes and sandwiches, made to order from a small truck stationed in San Francisco's South of Market district. The operation built a following by treating quick French fare — ham-and-brie sandwiches, sweet and savory crepes — as a weekend curbside event rather than a fast-food stop, parking regularly on 7th Street near Folsom. According to Yelp, whose page for Spencer On The Go was last updated in December 2025, the business is listed as permanently closed.

Foursquare's listing also marks the truck as closed, and Gayot's review page carries the same designation. No successor operation, new schedule, or relocation has been reported under the Spencer On The Go name since those updates, and the truck does not appear to have returned to its regular SoMa spot.
