Part 1 — Season 26, Episode Special Aired
In the 'All Stacked Up' special (Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, aired 2017-03-10), Guy Fieri returned to Studio Diner, a 1940s-style diner built in 2003 on the Kearny Mesa lot of Stu Segall Productions, according to SD Entertainer Magazine. The diner, located at 4701 Ruffin Road, has also appeared on the show's separate 'Open 24/7' episode, according to SD Entertainer Magazine.
Part 2 — Season 2, Episode 10 Aired
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Studio Diner, a diner near Ruffin Road in San Diego's Kearny Mesa neighborhood, on the episode "Open 24/7" (aired 2008-01-07), spotlighting the diner's round-the-clock breakfast service. NBC 7 San Diego (reporter Karla Rendon, published 2022-02-08) reported that Studio Diner reopened at 4701 Ruffin Rd after being closed for about two years during the coronavirus pandemic, with regular customers returning for its reopening, and the diner then operating 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. A Yelp listing updated September 2026 shows continued customer reviews and current hours for the diner at the same address, indicating it has remained open since its 2022 reopening. The address on file for this record, 4705 Ruffin Road, differs slightly from the 4701 Ruffin Road address given by NBC 7 and current listings; the latter is used here as the confirmed current address.
