What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
On the August 2012 Goin' the Extra Mile episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Guy Fieri visited this Waimanalo spot for its slow-smoked barbecue plates, prepared alongside a small market selling goods from local farmers and artisans. The business combined a barbecue cafe, a market stand, and a community classroom space at 41-1025 Kalanianaole Highway in Waimanalo, Hawaii, drawing a following on Oahu's Windward side for its smoked meats and locally sourced produce. According to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, the cafe and market closed in May 2015 after a difficult final stretch for the business. Yelp's page for Sweet Home Waimanalo remains marked permanently closed, corroborating the Star-Advertiser's report. No reopening or successor business at the Kalanianaole Highway address has been reported.
