Part 1 — Season 12, Episode 9 Aired
On Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (S12E9, 'Slammin' Sammies,' aired October 17, 2011), Guy Fieri visited Taco Taco Cafe, a counter-service Tex-Mex spot known for handmade tortillas, breakfast tacos and puffy tacos. According to Yelp, the business's listing was updated in April 2026 with 664 reviews and carries no permanent-closure flag.
The Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives location directory and TVFoodMaps also continue to list Taco Taco Cafe among the show's active San Antonio stops as of 2026, with no indication of a change in ownership or name. A Facebook page for the restaurant also remains active under the same name.
Part 2 — Season 19, Episode 14 Aired
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives revisited Taco Taco Cafe for the 2014-04-18 clip episode "Crazy for Chicken," spotlighting the San Antonio taqueria's morning taco lineup and house-made salsas. Taco Taco Cafe is a breakfast-and-lunch Mexican cafe on E Hildebrand Avenue near the Monte Vista neighborhood, open mornings only and known for its rolled flour tortillas. According to Yelp, the Hildebrand Avenue location's page carried an April 2026 update with more than 400 photos and over 650 reviews and no closure notice. The cafe's own website, tacotacocafesa.com, continues to list the Hildebrand Avenue address as its home location. A satellite location the business ran near UTSA is marked permanently closed by a separate Yelp listing updated 2026-02 - a different address from the Hildebrand Avenue cafe this record covers.
