What happened after Kitchen Nightmares?
Trobiano's was an Italian restaurant in Great Neck, New York, that appeared in the fourth episode of Kitchen Nightmares season 2, airing September 25, 2008. Owner Anthony Trobiano had opened the restaurant three years earlier, at age 25, with financial backing from his girlfriend Tiffany's parents, Joe and Pat, despite having no prior experience running an Italian kitchen. Gordon Ramsay was struck by an early-bird special priced below a fast-food sandwich, a dining room of customers decades older than Anthony, and a pre-chopped house salad. He judged the mozzarella on Anthony's signature eggplant tower cold and flavorless, sent back an undercooked shrimp dish and an oversized portion of salmon, and, after touring the kitchen through the back entrance, found unclean prep surfaces and signs he attributed to pests. Ramsay and Anthony argued sharply over the state of the kitchen, and Ramsay briefly left the building before Anthony persuaded him to return; the two then spent hours deep-cleaning the kitchen together. The next day, Ramsay took the family to a dairy farm to make fresh mozzarella, then introduced a menu built around fresh ingredients and invited Bon Appetit editor Barbara Fairchild to the relaunch, which was judged a success despite early delays caused by illegible handwritten orders. Ramsay closed the episode with a surprise proposal and an on-site wedding ceremony for Anthony and Tiffany.
