What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Virgil's Cafe in the Porkapalooza episode, S9E5, which aired 2010-05-24, highlighting the cafe's house-smoked kielbasa and Creole-style cooking. Virgil's Cafe was a from-scratch American restaurant in Bellevue, Kentucky, serving brunch, sandwiches, and local craft beer, and grew much of its own produce and herbs for a menu the owner said was about 90 percent made in house. WCPO reported that owner Matthew Buschle posted a Facebook message on 2015-12-18 announcing the cafe had closed after six and a half years in business, thanking vendors, guests, and employees for their relationships built over the years.
WCPO noted that no reason was given for the closing and that a message left with Buschle seeking further comment on the closure and any future plans had gone unanswered at the time of that report. Wikipedia's flag of the business as closed served only as a lead confirmed independently through the WCPO report.
