What happened after Bar Rescue?

615 District opened in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, in 2021, when owner Markita Medaries pursued a longtime ambition to build a Southern-inspired gathering spot. By the time Bar Rescue's "615 Reasons to Fail" aired on 2026-04-12, the business had unraveled through disorganization and weak management. According to Bar Rescue Updates (2026-04-11) and The Cinemaholic (2026-04-16), day-to-day operations had been handed to Medaries's boyfriend, who had no prior bar experience, and the venue struggled with untrained staff and poor oversight. On reopening night, Jon Taffer revealed the venue's new identity, The Southern Still: Tennessee Bar & Grill, according to both outlets.

Bar Rescue Updates reported that the makeover included new decor and an overhauled bar and kitchen operation to go with the rebrand. Since then, Bar Rescue Updates reported the bar keeping hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays, and noted the business maintains a website and a Facebook page, though it observed that the Facebook page is not updated often beyond photos from the Bar Rescue makeover. The Cinemaholic, writing five days later, put the address at 1950 South Church Street in Murfreesboro, cited a 4.4-star Yelp rating, and described recent themed programming including a partnership with radio station 92Q for live entertainment, sports-viewing parties, Taco Tuesdays, and Steak Nights.

Google Places lists the business at the same address under the name Southern Still and marks it operational. The Cinemaholic added that reviews posted after the rescue skewed more positive than those from before it, though it did not give exact pre-rescue rating figures. The Places-listed website's 2026-09-08 content was boilerplate text encouraging shoppers to support locally owned businesses over chains, unrelated to Southern Still's own menu or hours, which is why it was not used as a source for this record.
