What happened after Food Paradise?
Food Paradise's 'Hot Dog Paradise 2: The Missing Links' (aired 2013) featured the Detroit Coney dog rivalry, spotlighting Lafayette Coney Island's beef hot dog topped with loose chili, onion, and mustard. The no-frills diner sits at 118 W. Lafayette Blvd. in downtown Detroit, directly beside its longtime rival, American Coney Island, which is tracked separately in this database. According to a Yelp listing for the business, Lafayette Coney Island was updated in August 2026 and continued to draw new photos and reviews through that update.
Google's business listing separately marks Lafayette Coney Island as operational at the same Lafayette Boulevard address. Between the recent Yelp activity and the Google listing, the record indicates the diner remains open under its original name at its original downtown Detroit location since the episode aired.
