What happened after Hotel Impossible?

Hotel Impossible (Travel Channel) featured the Brookside Resort in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, in the episode 'Underwear, Under Where?,' which aired 2015-11-17 (S6E12). Host Anthony Melchiorri's series works with independently owned hotels and motels on operational and guest-experience problems. According to Tripadvisor, the property at 463 East Parkway was built in 1931, three years before the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was established. The business no longer operates under the Brookside Resort name. The property's own website, brooksidelodge.com, identifies the address as Brookside Lodge, describing it as a hotel 'On the River' in downtown Gatlinburg; a site check on 2026-09-09 found the page carrying an HTTP last-modified header dated 2026-04-05.

A Yelp listing for the business, updated in 2026-09, lists the same East Parkway address under the Brookside Lodge name, with photos of the property. Tripadvisor separately carries the current listing as Brookside Lodge, with reviews, alongside an older, differently numbered Tripadvisor listing for a 'Brookside Resort By Fairbridge' that a search across the show could not confirm is the same address. Amenities described across these current 2026 listings include two seasonal outdoor pools, guest laundry, a fitness center, and basketball, volleyball, and shuffleboard courts. Research confirmed the Brookside Lodge name and the separate, unconfirmed Fairbridge listing rather than pinning down a rebrand date.
