What happened after Hotel Impossible?

Hotel Impossible (Travel Channel) featured the Grant Hills Motel in Galena, Illinois, in the episode 'Spinning Out of Control,' which aired 2015-11-03 (S6E10). Host Anthony Melchiorri's Travel Channel series works with small, independently run motels on operational and guest-experience problems, and the Grant Hills Motel, at 9372 US-20 outside Galena, was one of the properties featured. The motel's own site, granthills.com, carries a 2024 copyright date rather than 2026, so it does not by itself establish current operation. More recent listings do. A Yelp listing for the business, updated in 2026-07, carries reviews and photos and lists the property at the same US-20 address.

A Booking.com guest review dated June 2026 rated the property 8.0 out of 10 and praised its cleanliness and affordability. Guest feedback summarized across Tripadvisor and Kayak in 2026 describes a pet-friendly, smoke-free motel with a seasonal outdoor pool, laundry facilities, a 24-hour front desk, and rates around $76 a night. No dated source reviewed across the show reports a closure, sale, or name change for the Grant Hills Motel since the 2015 episode aired. The property continues to be listed under the Grant Hills Motel name across every booking platform checked for this record, and the address given on each of those platforms matches the US-20 location used on the show.
