What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visited this downtown Modesto gastropub for its smoked, grilled and fried plates alongside an extensive craft beer list, during the 'Smoked, Grilled, and Fried' episode that aired 2016-05-26. Commonwealth opened in downtown Modesto in 2014 as a casual lunch-and-dinner spot built around California craft beer, according to the restaurant's own website, which also describes a rotating tap list and a full food menu served through dinner. At our check on 2026-09-08, commonwealthmodesto.com was live with posted hours for Thursday through Sunday, including a Saturday-Sunday brunch, and an active online-ordering link. The site's most recent dated text referenced 2021, though the hours page and ordering system reflected current-format listings rather than a stale archive page. No separate news coverage or ownership change was found for Commonwealth in the sources checked.
