What happened after Hotel Hell?

Hotel Chester in Starkville, Mississippi, was the property featured in Hotel Hell's fourth episode of season two, which aired 2014-08-11. According to Tripadvisor, the 36-room boutique hotel was built in 1925 as a full-service hotel in the heart of historic downtown Starkville and has since been restored; Tripadvisor's current ranking places it third of thirteen hotels in Starkville with an overall rating of 4 out of 5. A Yelp listing for the hotel, updated as of a September 2026 crawl, shows 43 reviews at the property's address, 101 N Jackson St, and continues to list the business as active.

Tripadvisor reviewers described their stays positively overall, citing welcoming staff and the historic character of the rooms, while a smaller number of reviews on the same page described specific rooms as needing updating. The hotel's own website, historichotelchester.com, returned HTTP 200 when checked 2026-09-09, though the homepage's content loads dynamically through a booking application and did not expose a visible copyright year or hours in the page's raw text; the page did display an active 'Book Now' booking control. The property also carries active, currently dated 2026 listings with room pricing on Expedia, Hotels.com, WeddingWire, and Trip.com, and Tripadvisor separately lists free Wi-Fi and free 24-hour parking among the hotel's current amenities.
