What happened after Hotel Hell?

Gordon Ramsay visited the Murphys Hotel in Murphys, California, for Hotel Hell season 2, episode 8, which aired 2014-09-09. The hotel is one of the oldest continuously operating hotels in California, according to Wikipedia (revised 2026-09-06), which lists its earlier names as the Sperry and Perry Hotel and the Mitchler Hotel. The building is a California Historical Landmark (No. 267) and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Ramsay's visit addressed the hotel's food and beverage operations and its saloon, the pattern the series follows with aging, family-run properties.

The hotel's own website, murphyshotel.com, carried a server last-modified date of 2026-09-04 and listed current restaurant, saloon, and bar hours, including Wednesday and Thursday last-call times, as of a 2026-09-09 check, though the page's copyright notice and other date references on the site read 2022. Google's Places listing for the property, now marketed as the Murphys Historic Hotel at 457 Main St, Murphys, CA, showed an operational business status as of the same check. Between the recently modified official site and the current Wikipedia entry, the hotel's day-to-day restaurant, saloon, and lodging operations at the historic Main Street address appear to be continuing into September 2026.
