What happened after Food Paradise?
The episode featured Kawaii Kitty Cafe's cat-cafe concept: a coffee and snack counter paired with a lounge of adoptable rescue cats. Philadelphia magazine reported that Kawaii Kitty Cafe opened in 2016 as one of the city's first cat cafes, located at 759 S 4th Street in the Queen Village area. According to CatTime, the cafe announced in June 2021 that it was permanently closing, citing financial strain during the COVID-19 pandemic despite having found homes for more than 1,000 cats. A Yelp listing for the business was updated in September 2026 and continues to mark it permanently closed, and no current standalone website for the cafe could be found, only inactive Facebook and Instagram pages.
