What happened after Food Paradise?
The episode featured the Pioneer Saloon's Old West character: a cherry-wood bar bearing cigarette burns, a framed 1915 newspaper clipping recounting a shooting inside the bar, and a memorial room dedicated to Clark Gable and Carole Lombard. Pioneer Saloon is a bar in Goodsprings, Nevada that opened in 1913 and is the oldest bar in southern Nevada, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal (2026-05-08); the building itself originated in Rhyolite in the late 1800s before being moved to Goodsprings. According to the Review-Journal, Clark Gable left cigarette burns on the bar in 1942 while awaiting news of his wife Carole Lombard, who died in a plane crash on nearby Mount Potosi. On 2026-09-08, the saloon's own website (pioneersaloonnv.com) listed current hours, news and events pages, and a press section, and Yelp's listing for the bar was updated in September 2026 with more than 600 reviews.
