What happened after Food Paradise?
On Sandwich Paradise 2: The Upper Crust (2012), Morrette's Steak Sandwiches was featured for its signature steak sandwich, made with thin-sliced ribeye, three kinds of cheese, and grilled onions, mushrooms, and peppers on a roll. The Daily Gazette reported on 2014-05-22 that the original restaurant, founded in 1947 on Erie Boulevard in Schenectady, served its last meal that week after 67 years in business. CBS6 Albany later described a family restaurant at the same Erie Boulevard address on 2024-10-22 as a staple there since 1947, and a Google Places listing checked 2026-09-08 lists that address, now operating as Morrette's King Steakhouse, as operational. The Daily Gazette reported in 2023 that Kathleen and Frank Martin bought Morrette's in 2014 and that their son Max Martin now runs it, still making the thin-sliced rib-eye steak sandwiches.
