What happened after Food Paradise?
"Pizza Paradise" featured Ray's Pizza on Prince Street in Manhattan's Nolita neighborhood, one specific shop behind a name used by dozens of unrelated New York pizzerias. According to Wikipedia (revised 2026-05-23), "Ray's Pizza" and variants such as "Ray's Original," "Famous Ray's," and "World-Famous Original Ray's" refer to largely independent pizzerias across the New York area that share similar menus, signs, and logos without common ownership. DNAinfo reported on 2012-01-06 that this location, opened by Ralph Cuomo in 1959, closed on 2011-10-30 following a rent and lease dispute that arose after the building's owner died in 2008. DNAinfo also reported that a new, unrelated pizzeria, Prince Street Pizza, subsequently opened in part of the same storefront, with its owner describing himself as a longtime customer of the original Ray's. Google's listing for the former Ray's Pizza at 27 Prince Street marks it permanently closed.
