What happened after Bar Rescue?
Chix on Dix was an adult-entertainment club in Detroit, Michigan, owned by Richard Skinner, who opened the business years before its 2015 appearance on Bar Rescue. According to the trade outlet Bar & Restaurant News, which covered the episode under the headline "Chix on Dix Needs a Quick Fix," the club was profitable in its first year, generating about $50,000 a month, before Skinner shifted attention to his other business interests and performance declined. Skinner brought in outside manager Darren Lee to try to turn the business around; according to the same coverage, Lee renamed the venue Industrial Strip without first getting Skinner's approval, a unilateral move that deepened distrust between owner and manager even as the business fell roughly $200,000 into debt.
The episode, titled "Bare Rescue," aired December 13, 2015. Jon Taffer brought in mixologist Lisamarie Joyce along with Renae Lemmens, an entertainment director from a well-known Las Vegas club, to retrain staff and improve the venue's presentation, and the business was relaunched with new signage, an updated interior, and another new name, Power Strip. The relaunch did not turn the business around by the show's usual measure. According to Reality TV Updates, Power Strip closed in 2016, about seven months after the televised makeover, and was subsequently listed for sale, according to that same source, including its liquor and adult-entertainment licenses, with an asking price that started near $600,000 and was later reduced.
The site also described the property changing hands again by 2020, and reported that a different, unrelated gentleman's club briefly operated at the same address afterward before it, too, stopped operating; these later details come from a single fan-run source and were not independently corroborated for this record. No reporting found in researching this record describes any legal dispute or regulatory action connected to Power Strip's 2016 closure; the available account describes declining sales and an owner-manager relationship that never fully recovered after the relaunch. Because only one aggregator-style source could be found describing the business's post-2016 history, its current status could not be independently confirmed as of this check.
