What happened after Food Paradise?

Food Paradise's 'Noodle Nirvana' featured M.Y. China for hand-pulled noodles at the restaurant's open noodle bar inside San Francisco's Westfield Centre, a format described in Sunset and KQED profiles of the restaurant. Chef Martin Yan and Koi Palace partners Ronny and Willy Ng ran the fourth-floor restaurant for eight years, according to SFGate. SFGate and Hoodline both reported that the restaurant permanently closed in November 2020, citing the difficulty of running a takeout-only business on the mall's fourth level during the pandemic. SFist reported in August 2023 that Yan was planning to revive the concept in Chinatown, possibly at the Cathy House building on California Street, but no source found confirms that reopening has happened. A Yelp listing for the original Market Street address, updated 2026-07, still marks the restaurant permanently closed.
