What happened after Food Paradise?

"Chili Paradise" (aired 2012) featured Texas Chili Parlor's Texas-style red chili near the State Capitol in downtown Austin. Established in 1976, the restaurant describes itself on its own website as a "legendary hole-in-the-wall Tex-Mex chili joint." According to the business's website, Texas Chili Parlor is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 1409 Lavaca Street, though the site's own copyright notice is dated 2025. A Yelp listing updated 2026-09 shows the restaurant still active, with more than 1,000 reviews and a 4.4-star rating.

The restaurant's website notes it is located "one block from the State Capitol," a detail consistent with its downtown Austin address. Google Places lists the address as operational. No closure, relocation, or ownership change has been reported for the business.
