"Tacos, Turtles, and Tri-tip" featured Cosecha, a Mexican restaurant and café on Washington Street in Oakland run by chef-owner Dominica Rice-Cisneros. The restaurant had operated in the city's Jack London Square area for roughly a decade, building a following for its regional Mexican cooking before the episode aired. According to SFGate, Rice-Cisneros announced in March 2021 that she would close Cosecha, citing an approximately 80 percent drop in regular customers tied to the COVID-19 pandemic; the restaurant served its last day on March 27, 2021.

SFGate reported that the closure allowed Rice-Cisneros to focus on Bombera, a second Oakland restaurant she was already developing. Yelp's page for Cosecha carries a permanently-closed listing, last updated September 2026, with more than 890 reviews accumulated over the restaurant's run, with no indication the location has reopened under the Cosecha name.
