What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Maui Brick Oven in Kihei during the 'Island and Desert' episode (S26E16), which aired 2017-06-30, highlighting the restaurant's gluten-free, brick-oven pizzas. Maui Brick Oven was a 100%-gluten-free pizzeria on South Kihei Road that used locally sourced ingredients for its wood-fired pies. According to Triple D Life, the restaurant closed in November 2020. A Yelp listing for the address, updated in July 2026, continues to mark Maui Brick Oven as closed, with more than 550 reviews still attached to the page.

Menupix's listing for the same address, also checked in September 2026, still shows the restaurant's old gluten-free pizza menu without any recent updates. Google's business listing for the location also shows a permanently-closed status as of the September 2026 check.
